Mission

The mission of Camp Cadet is to develop a better understanding between the youth of Centre County and its law enforcement officers. Camp Cadet provides an enjoyable experience that will be remembered by all cadets who attend and creates a lasting impression that police officers are their friends.

Camp Cadet History

Centre County Law Enforcement Camp Cadet, Inc. was organized in 1984 by Specialist/Officer David H. Caster of the State College Police Department.

With assistance from Trooper Richard A. Reitz of the Pennsylvania State Police, the Camp Cadet Program in Centre County was established. Since 1984, the Camp Cadet Program in Centre County has changed each year to meet the current needs and desires of the youth in Centre County based on evaluations from former cadets and staff.

To date, over 2,400 cadets have graduated from the Camp Cadet program and as we look to the second generation of cadets, we are thrilled to continue serving the youth and families of Centre County.
